Last year in Dallas we rolled out: “Business owners and Professionals, Lit up by Christ -The First Movement.

This year we are moving forward with: “Lit up by Christ, Glorifying God -The Heart of our Movement”

Brothers we are excited that Moody Bible Institute has agreed to provide the training and instruction for our 3rd annual CBMC Moderator Conference. Moody has been training men who stand in the gap for over 120 years.

As D.L. Moody said:

“God never had a work but what he had men to do it.
I believe we have got to have gap-men, men to stand between the laity and the ministers…”

D.L. Moody January 23, 1886

Men... that’s us!

We stand between the lost and the found. Did you know that only 3% of Christian’s work in “professional” ministry! That leaves 97% of Christians living and working in the marketplace! We are all called into full-time ministry, no matter how we provide for our families. I know you are busy however, please mark your calendars and invite your co-leader to join you.  Another way to look at “the heart of the movement” is that it is a movement of the heart.  We truly believe that our time together will be life changing!

What to Expect

We will be receiving training and instruction from some of the leading bible teachers of our day. The instructors are Professors at the Moody Graduate School and are involved in training Pastors, Missionaries, and Gap-Men. We are honored and pleased that men of this position have agreed to work with us! Our prayer is that through our time together we will grow in our relationship with the Lord, become more effective “Gap-Men” and grow in our ability to lead others.

Comments from Last Year’s Retreat in Dallas

  • “Helped me put into place and understanding details with Forums”
  • “The vision before us became clear”
  • “Powerful group of men. 6 a.m. prayer time was tremendous.”
  • “I now get it! I’m excited.”
  • “Wonderful! You’re on the right track!”
  • “Vision for Forums right on! Our group spent considerable time evaluating and meditating over the Vision and Core Values and arrived at a consensus of full agreement – full buy in. The direction is encouraging and exciting. Four years ago we felt completely separate from National. We now feel fully integrated with the national movement and appreciate the leaders that have stepped up to guide and teach us.”
  • “I believe the vision and direction of the CBMC FORUMS ministry is right in line with the Great Commandment and Great Commission.”
  • “There is so much work to do. There is such a void in the marketplace. God wants revival through this work.”
  • “The harvest is ready and the laborers so few. I want to get more involved.”
  • “New focus on my responsibility as a Moderator; new desire to read and study the Bible.”
  • “Keep praying and working on building Forum both in breadth and depth.”
  • “Continue seeking God asking for teaching me to continue putting off my old self.”
  • “Christ living in me and thru me. Not doing but being; start corporate ministry plan for company.”
  • “I must decrease; He must increase. I need to let Him work thru me. Heard it many times before, but it hit home this weekend.”
  • “Focus less on doing and more on being; take advantage of tools offered and share with group members.”
  • “I am a broken vessel and need to let Christ work thru me.  I/We are not responsible for results, just faithfulness to Jesus and His way.  Use the individual prayer card.  Revisit binder and tools like the burning issues worksheet.”
  • “As I keep focusing on Christ who is my identity, people will see Christ. My prayer is that I continue to be a ‘sweet aroma.’”
  • “I need to model and hold this TRUTH up to the men in our area and trust the Holy Spirit to impart this TRUTH to them individually and corporately.”
  • “From a national perspective, work on the hearts of the Moderator. From a local perspective, work on the hearts of the Forum members. First, produce community by organizing informal get-togethers: baseball game, dinner parties, etc. Second, float the members who have interest in deeper study into the national conference or a regional conference.”
  • “I believe this Forum Moderator’s Conference is of great value in helping and reminding Moderators of their God-called and God-ordained position of shepherding-serving-influencing men in great positions of influence.”
  • “Thank you for someone paying for the weekend. I could not have come otherwise.”

We look forward to seeing you in Chicago next April.
